The juvenile horned dragon already bears the paired horns and ridged scales of its kind, a young primal dragon testing its growing strength against anything foolish enough to wander into its forest. Proud and quick to anger, it has yet to learn the patience of its elders, which makes it every bit as dangerous and far less predictable. When your party rounds the bend and the young dragon rears up, this is the fight they didn't plan for. On the table it drops a real dragon threat into an early-to-mid-level game, the beast a party can face and survive before the true monster - the full-grown horned dragon whose forest this cub is still learning to rule.
