The giant spider is a patient ambush predator the size of a war-hound, stringing thick webs across cave mouths, ruined halls, and forest trails to snare whatever blunders through. It drops without warning, sinks venom into its catch, and drags the wrapped, struggling bundle back to its lair to feed. Picture the moment the ceiling moves and the webbing overhead turns out to be occupied. On the table it's a classic dungeon and wilderness hazard for low-level parties, equal parts trap and monster - pair it with the shambling undead of the crypt, like the skeleton guard that never sleeps, to turn a single corridor into a killing floor.
