Cinder Rat

The cinder rat is an oversized rodent of smouldering charcoal and living flame, an elemental vermin that leaves scorch-marks and noxious smoke wherever it scurries. It is a creature even other fire elementals are glad to be rid of, and it turns up as a memorable early hazard in the Pathfinder Beginner Box adventure Menace Under Otari. A skittering ember in the dark, then the straw underfoot catches - and the whole room is a hazard. On the table it's a striking elemental threat for any low-level dungeon, as dangerous to the terrain as to the party - loose it into the same depths as the xulgath raiders prowling the tunnels below, and every corridor becomes a trap.
