Ankhrav

A canonical Golarion antagonist to set against your party - for GMs running Pathfinder's published threats and collectors completing the roster of iconic foes.

The ankhrav is a burrowing insectoid horror the size of a pony, armored in chitin and armed with a raised, acid-spraying abdomen and grasping mandibles. It tunnels beneath field and dungeon alike, erupting without warning to douse prey in caustic spray before dragging it below. Picture the ground bursting open as the barbed body heaves into the light. On the table it is a nasty ambush monster for any subterranean or wilderness encounter, striking from below where no one expects - loose it near a smaller startling insect of the same dark, the flash beetle scuttling underfoot.
