The kobold scout is a quick, quiet reptilian that ranges ahead of the warren to spy on intruders and carry word back before the alarm is ever raised. Small and easily overlooked, it trades open fighting for information, darting through cracks and shadows to keep its clan one step ahead of anything that comes hunting. Set it against your players before they even know they are being watched, a shadow that slips away the moment it is spotted. On the table it's an ambush-trigger and reinforcement-caller for any kobold encounter, more dangerous for what it summons than what it swings - the moment it escapes, it fetches the rest, starting with the trapmaster who wired the tunnels ahead.
